Looking to buy a car with a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds or less?
I'm looking to buy a car, powerful, with a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds or less. Sedans, coupes, convertibles, even SUV's, all answers are acceptable! However, I'm looking to spend $20,000 or less. I've looked at a few cars already, such as the Volvo S60 R (really really like that car), the Mazda MazdaSPEED3 (also really like this car, but over $20,000), as well as others. New or used! Please let me know what you have in mind, thanks!
There are a couple of clarifications I would like to make about your statements. The Volvo S60 is NOT under $20,000. It's actually around $37,000. Also, 0-60 doesn't mean that your car is going to beat another car with a slower 0-60 time. Rather, quarter miles are the best way to see how fast cars are. Anyhow.. The cheapest new car you can get under $20,000 that can go from 0-60 is... No car unless you want to buy a Honda Civic and twin turbocharge it. A used car could be a Lancer Evolution, a Subaru WRX STi, or an Infiniti G35. Hope this helps!~~~

What cars should I look at?
I just sold my 07 Dodge Magnum SRT-8. I'm looking for something to replace it, probably in October. I like the imports, but I don't want anything that is too expensive to maintain and drive. Here are the requirements that I would like to meet:
-Good in snow (AWD preferably or FWD)
-Good gas mileage (minimum 18 city/26 hwy)
-Attractive styling
-Decent power (Magnum was 0-60 in 5.0, but I would take 0-60 in up to 7.0-7.5)
-4 door with some cargo room
-Under $15k- around 12k is ideal
-Affordable without having over 60k miles
-Low maintenance/operating costs (no premium gas, no required synthetics)
-Prefer automatic transmission
A few I've looked at are:
2006-07 Volvo S60 Type R's - too low gas mileage, premium
Older WRX's - Overpriced for age/mileage
Cobalt SS Turbo - too small in coupe, too ugly in sedan
Any Mercedes, BMW, Audi - Premium, high maintenance costs
Cars I liked:
Chevy Malibu LTZ - Interior is kinda cheap, but otherwise very nice
Chevy Impala LTZ - Nice car, but it's about time for a new model to come out (price drop maybe?)
03+ Saab 9-3 Aeros - Look nice on paper, but haven't test drove yet
Dodge Caliber SRT-4 - Nice styling, but uses premium (but gets 19/27), manual only
Anybody have any suggestions for me to look at?
